Chapter Philanthropy and Service
The Toledo Alumnae chapter is proud of our breast cancer education and awareness work within the community. We are very excited about ZTA's new partnership with the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® walks! We were at the walk in Perrysburg in May. And we will be at the walks in Lima on Oct 17 and in Huron on Oct 24.
Please join us for these events or stop by and say "Hi".
Our chapter also supports other projects important to our membership. These projects include:
- Operation Coupon: for servicemen overseas
- Toledo-Akron-Columbus Recognition Scholarship
- Annual School Supply collection
- Donating to area food pantries
- Providing support for Ronald McDonald house
- Trash Pickup - clean up the parks
- Tennis shoe collection for YWCA
Individual members volunteer at local hospitals, deliver meals to the homebound, tutor school children, work with nursing home patients and donate clothing and food for the needy. Members also give their time to the Jazz Society, MS Society, Habitat for Humanity, youth and drug awareness programs, church activities and festivals, and many other organizations around town.
Our members believe so strongly in helping those around them that 6 of our alumnae have been honored to receive the Carolyn K. Stevens Community Leadership Award at past Ohio Zeta Days.
